Do not forsake Jesus, Bishop exhorts Christians
Today August 25, 2024, a vibrant service was held at Bishop James Hannington Cathedral for the confirmation of 30 new communicants alongside the licensing of 8 lay readers and one evangelist. The event, presided over by the Right Reverend Dr Joseph Wandera, Bishop of Mumias Diocese, was marked by high attendance and spirited celebrations.
The congregation witnessed heartfelt song and dance during the commissioning, reflecting the joy and dedication of those stepping into new roles within the church. Bishop Wandera delivered a compelling sermon from John 6:56-69, addressing the challenges of discipleship and asking Christians not to forsake the ways of Jesus during life’s journey. He reminded the congregation that it’s not easy to follow jesus and commitment and sacrifice is required.
The service was a moment of spiritual renewal and community, as new members of the faith were welcomed and honoured.
