Diocesan Choir Travels to Uganda for International Hymn Festival.

Today, 51 choir members from Mumias Diocese embarked on a momentous journey to Uganda to participate in the International Hymn Festival. The event, held at St. Augustine Church of Uganda (COU) Barogole, in the Lira Urban Archdeaconry under the Diocese of Lango, will feature choirs from across East and Central Africa, including Kenya, Tanzania, South Sudan, Burundi, DR Congo, and host Uganda.

Before departure, the group received prayers and blessings from the diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Wandera, who encouraged them to carry their faith and voices with pride. The festival, running from October 30th to November 2nd 2024, marks its 10th anniversary and promises a week of song, celebration, and fellowship.

This journey is more than a performance opportunity; it’s a chance for the choir to gain exposure, build friendships, and share in the spirit of worship with other choirs.
