Koyonzo School Celebrates Milestone with New Dormitories

ACK Koyonzo Special School for the visually impaired in Matungu has marked a significant milestone with the commissioning of two new dormitories. The facilities, constructed at a cost of 9 million Kenyan Shillings through funding from the Government of Japan, will provide a better learning environment for the school’s 151 pupils.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by Rt Rev Dr. Joseph Wandera, the diocesan bishop, and His Excellency Hiroshi Matsuura, the Japanese Ambassador to Kenya. Bishop Wandera expressed gratitude to the Japanese government for its continuous support and called for sustained collaboration. Ambassador Matsuura reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to education in Kenya, emphasizing that quality infrastructure is crucial for academic success.

Later in the day, Bishop Wandera attended the burial of Mama Mary Nelima Mumbo in Lusheya, paying tribute to the late community matriarch.
