“Create Your Future, Don’t Watch from the Balcony,” Bishop Urges Learners

During his pastoral visit to schools since the start of the third term of school calendar, Diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Wandera today urged students at ACK Shibale Secondary and Comprehensive School to actively shape their futures. He advised them to avoid merely watching from the sidelines and instead take charge of their destinies, emphasizing personal responsibility and the power of education.
Earlier, Bishop Wandera had visited Mumias National School for Autism, where he presented a cheque of Ksh 20,000 to support the children’s daily needs. At ACK Shibale, he and his team contributed 100 kilograms of rice to assist with the students’ feeding program.
To commemorate his visit, Bishop Wandera planted trees at both Shibale schools, symbolizing growth and commitment to nurturing future generations. In his sermon, referencing John 15:15, he advised students to choose their friends carefully, noting that “bad company corrupts good morals,” and stressed the crucial role of education in achieving their dreams.
