Tumaini Mumias Hosts 43 Street Children in Mumias.

Today, Tumaini Mumias, the diocesan social outreach programme, welcomed 43 vulnerable children living in the streets of Mumias town to the ACK Ebenezer Children and Youth Centre. The visit aimed to enable the children to connect better with our community of faith, mentorship and encourage them in the journey of life.

During their time at the centre, the children voiced key concerns, highlighting their need for a safe place to stay. The younger children, in particular, expressed a desire to return to school but emphasized the challenge of balancing education while living on the streets. Several of the older children also shared entrepreneurial ideas, seeking guidance and support to start small businesses.

Before the mentorship session, the children enjoyed a morning of fun activities, including football and other games, fostering a sense of community. The visit concluded with a shared lunch, filling the day with warmth and hope. Tumaini Mumias looks forward to continuing to respond to some of these needs and providing a haven for these young lives.
