Uniting for Inclusion, Tumaini Mumias Hosts Autism School
Today, the ACK Ebenezer Children and Youth Center buzzed with energy as Tumaini Mumias, the diocese’s social spiritual initiative, welcomed children and teachers from the Mumias National School for Autism. This outreach program aims to connect with vulnerable community members, fostering inclusion and understanding.
Diocesan Bishop Rt Rev Dr. Joseph Wandera graced the occasion, delivering an encouraging sermon from Psalm 23. “You are all made in the likeness of God,” he affirmed, his voice resonating with compassion.
However, a pressing concern remains: the school struggles to acquire land to build structures for its growing population.
The day concluded with a delightful shared lunch at the diocesan Ack Mumias Guest House. Amid the delicious food and joyful chatter, hope flickered brightly as they envision a future where every child could thrive, supported by the community. We are sincerely grateful to Shalom Orembo,Tumaini’s coordinator.
