A team from the ACK Diocese of Mumias today visited ACK Koyonzo Special School for the Visually Impaired.
Speaking during the visit,Rt Revd Dr Joseph Wandera affirmed the intrinsic dignity of the differently abled learners.’You are loved by God and made in his image’ ,said the bishop.
The Diocese of Mumias through its social outreach arm – Tumaini Mumias, donated Ksh 200,000 towards the development of the school.Present during the visit were diocesan education secretary madam Azibeta Odongo,Ebenezer children and youth centre coordinator madam Shalom orembo and Rev Eunice Wafula.
ACK Koyonzo, the only school of its kind in Western Kenya, caters for learners with visual,hearing and autistic conditions. It currently accommodates 20 junior secondary students and 125 primary pupils, with most of them boarding.
Later in the day, the team extended their ministry to Mung’ang’a to visit and pray with Evangelist Joab Inzushi, who is unwell.
The community prays for his recovery and strength during this challenging time.
